Stephen was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He started playing guitar at the age of 8 studying classical guitar. At the age of 11, he began training under the guidance of one of the finest guitar players in the world...Dave Millsap. Stephen began songwriting with the release of his first independent project called "Panhandle to Padre" and has written over fifty songs to date. His second CD "Hooked", was released March 17, 2003. His newest project, "sixes and sevens", will be his first professionally produced album. Graduating from Texas Christian University, Stephen has deep Texas roots and his music shows it. He has built a strong TCU and Texas following not only with the University students, with with others too. He is very dedicated to his music and loves the Texas music nation.
Austin Barker: Lead Guitar, Pedal Steel Guitar, Vocals
Austin grew up in Fort Worth and studied music at South Plains College in Levelland, TX outside of Lubbock. He has been playing guitar for over 15 years and loving the Texas music scene. He has played for several Texas Music acts including Collin Herring. Austin joined SPB in 2005.
Herbie Rolph: Bass, Vocals
Herbie was born in El Paso, TX and grew up outside of Dallas. He attended TCU where he was a biology major in hopes of becoming a doctor. He started playing bass guitar and has played with several well known bands. Herbie has chosen music over medicine and has never looked back. During his Jr. year at TCU, he met Stephen Pointer and has toured with SPB ever since.
